Lyle R. Johnson passed away on Jan. 20, 2012, in Grass Valley. He was 79.
Lyle was born on Aug. 22, 1932, to Royal Johnson and Clara Dahl in Duluth, Minn. He attended Duluth Central High School.
After high school, he attended University of Minnesota, Duluth, and University of Minnesota Law School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1956.
Lyle and his wife, Patricia, were married on August 23, 1958, in Duluth, Minn. He worked at Litton Industries, Curley-Bates, Inc., Cartridge Television, Ampex and Honeywell.
He participated in the United States Marine Corps Veterans, Marine Corps Mustang Association Inc., Roamin' Angels Car Club and Marine Corps League. He enjoyed hiking, walking, sailing, camping and travel.
Lyle was a devoted husband and loving father. He was an honorable man who gave all he had, all the time.
He is survived by his sons, Stephan Johnson of Upland, Calif., Christopher Johnson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; niece, Joan Monego of Chicago, Ill.; and cousin, Carroll Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.
Lyle is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia.
