Eleonore A. Fiedler passed away Jan. 19, 2012, in Grass Valley, Calif. She was 97.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, Nevada City, Calif. Pastor Andy Owens will be officiating.
Eleonore was born May 20, 1914, to parents Augaste F. Chaix and Marie Casajus. She attended Durant High School and graduated Dec. 16, 1927. Eleonore was also a USO volunteer. She married her husband Herman Fiedler on Jan. 22, 1954, in Reno, Nev.
Eleonore was a member of the Contra Costa Hills Club and Nevada County Travel Club. She enjoyed socializing, hiking, potted flowers, crossword puzzles, sewing, reading and crocheting.
She is survived by husband, Herman of Grass Valley; son, Robert of Nevada City; granddaughters, Kelly and Amber Fiedler of Rocklin, Calif; nieces, Nancy Jurich of Walnut Creek, Calif; and Michelle Schreck of Berkeley, Calif.
Eleonore is predeceased by sisters, Adele Jurich and Irma Murray.
