Dovetailing a day of discussions on Grass Valley's economic future and attracting appropriate businesses, a split City Council narrowly approved the evaluation of demolishing the Tribal Weaver Building on Neal Street at its Tuesday night meeting.
Shortly before 9 p.m., Mayor Jan Arbuckle cast the deciding vote in favor with looking into the pros and cons of demolition.
Grass Valley has allocated $120,000 of redevelopment funds for the demolition only, not redevelopment or remodel of the existing structure, cautioned City Attorney Michael Colantuono.
