A new organization is forming to promote women in business in Nevada County. The group plans to organize monthly fundraisers to benefit area nonprofits.
Nevada County Tapestry will launch at a gathering from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12, at United Methodist Church, 236 S. Church St., downtown Grass Valley.
NC Tapestry is a faith-based group, “where women of faith create a community in life and business,” according to organizers.
The keynote speaker will be Stephanie Sherwood, co-founder of the BAM Project — for beliefs, authenticity and message.
“The world has asked us to separate the many parts of our lives from our faith. God our Father simply says, ‘Be.'
“The BAM Project strives to build a community that allows women to show up and ‘be' all that He has called us to be — business women, moms, wives, friends, dog or cat lovers, Bible study teachers — without apology,” Sherwood said.
Organizers emphasize the group is open to “all businesswomen, Christians and seekers alike.”
Lynn Costa and Melisa Mistler are co-directors of NC Tapestry.
