Nevada County Clerk Recorder Greg Diaz is scheduled to describe new procedures that will be in place for the presidential primary election in June when he speaks with the Democratic Women's Club at its regular meeting on Jan. 7.
Diaz is also expected to discuss the separation of passport services from the Clerk-Recorder's Office as a result of a recent decision by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Grass Valley Post Office has been handling passport services since November.
(An article in the Dec. 28 edition of The Union had incorrect information about the discussion about changes at the Clerk-Recorder's Office.)
The presentation will follow breakfast and a business meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Trolley Junction Restaurant in the Northern Queen Inn in Nevada City. Breakfast costs $12.
RSVP no later than Jan. 3 to Sally Smith at sjyws@yahoo.com or call (530) 273-3051. More information about the club is at www.NevadaCountyDemocratic WomensClub.org.
