Anna Harris, a 2008 Nevada Union graduate, was awarded the 2011 United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award for excellence on and off the court.
Harris, a team captain, led the Christendom Crusaders (Front Royal, Va.) volleyball team to their first winning season with a 13-4 record. Harris led the Crusaders to their first Shenandoah Chesapeake Conference championship while maintaining a 3.9 grade point average.

Basketball
Josh Ritchart ( Forest Lake Christian, ‘10) UC Davis — Ritchart and the Aggies ran into a buzz-saw when they faced UCLA Saturday. An overmatched UC Davis squad fell easily to the Bruins 82-39.
Ritchart struggled in the loss, shooting 3-12 and only notching eight points. Ritchart did lead the Aggies in rebounds with six and also added two assists and a block in the loss.
UC Davis (2-9) will try to snap its six game losing streak Tuesday when they head to San Jose State to take on the Spartans.
Patrick Scott (Bear River, ‘09) Sonoma State — Scott and the Seawolves continue to struggle in the California Collegiate Athletic Association as they dropped their fourth straight Conference game.
Earlier in the week Sonoma State lost to Humboldt State 73-68 and then fell to Cal State Stanislaus 73-61 on Saturday.
Against Humboldt State, Scott scored a team high 16 points to go with six rebounds and three assists.
In the loss to Cal State Stanislaus, Scott again led his team in points with 13 and managed to grab eight boards in the loss.
The Seawolves will take the court again today against Chico State.
Caroline Reeves (Nevada Union ‘08) Cal Poly San Luis Obispo — Reeves and the Mustangs can't seem to find a winning recipe as they lost both contests this week.
The Mustangs (3-7) fell to Long Island 69-61 Monday, and lost Saturday to San Diego 69-52.
Against Long Island, Reeves came off the bench to score four points in 18 minutes of action. When the Mustangs faced San Diego, Reeves got the start and scored six points to go with five rebounds.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo will try to halt its five game skid today when it faces Loyola Marymount.
