On Tuesday, the 200 block of North Auburn Street will be closed as city workers repair a lateral water line, city Utility Operations Manager Mike Healy said. A slow leak was detected there, Healy added.
As dry weather holds, road work continues elsewhere on Grass Valley roads through Nov. 11 as a city contractor moves ahead with street repairs and repaving.
Road affected are: Taylorville Road, between McKnight Way and Freeman Lane; Packard Drive, King Court, Kathleen Way, Delia Court, Blight Road, Todd Court, Penstock Drive, Pelton Way, Scadden Drive and Fawcett Street.
Motorists should watch out for workers between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., weather permitting. Delays are expected to be minimal.
Meanwhile, work continues on Banner Mountain roads starting at 8 a.m. daily to install the Banner Cascade pipeline, the Nevada Irrigation District reported.
Construction this week is at the intersection of Banner Lava Cap Road and Wings of Morning Drive and is expected to take a few days to complete. Wings of Morning residents will need to continue using the Sesame Street detour, turning right onto Banner Lava Cap Road to avoid the construction delays.
Work to finalize appurtenances and culverts will continue along Wings of Morning this week and next after the raw water connection is completed. Detours will be set up to direct traffic around construction in order to avoid delays.
Treated water pipeline installation is set to begin the week of Nov. 7, weather permitting.
Construction at Madrone Forest Drive near the Idaho-Maryland Road intersection is starting this week, after the Wings of Morning Drive connection is completed. Raw water pipeline installation on the Overland section will connect to the existing pipeline on Madrone Forest Drive, blocking through traffic on Idaho-Maryland for up to 20 minutes.
If traveling east of Madrone Forest Drive on Idaho-Maryland Road, residents may use Banner Lava Cap Road and Old Tunnel Road to access Brunswick Road.
Treated water pipeline installation on Red Gate Road is scheduled to start this week.
Pavement installation is scheduled for Red Dog Cross Road, Lola's Echo Road and Oak Ridge Road through Wednesday.
