Nevada Union grad Flores qualifies for PGA event

Former Nevada Union High School standout Erik Flores has qualified to compete in this week's Frys.com Open on the PGA Tour at CordeValle in San Martin, Calif.Flores, who went on to star for the UCLA Bruin golf program after his prep career with the Miners, is one of four open qualifiers for the Silicon Valley tournament, along with Matthew Marshall, Todd Fischer and Erick Justesen. Flores shot a two-under-par 70 on the Bayonet and Black Horse course in Seaside to tie with Justesen for third place and secure one of the four qualifying spots. Flores carded a total of seven …
