Tahoe National Forest firefighters spotted one fire this morning after recording more than 1,300 lightning strikes on the forest during an overnight thunderstorm, dispatchers said.
Lightning sparked a small, 50 foot by 50 foot fire about a mile south of Downieville, which was dubbed the Galloway fire. Two engines were reporting to the scene, dispatchers said.
