Gold Country Stage will provide shuttle buses to and from the Nevada County Fairgrounds during next week's fair.
The 2011 Nevada County Fair is from Wednesday, Aug. 10, through Sunday, Aug. 14, at the fairgrounds on McCourtney Road, just south of Grass Valley.
Regular cash fares apply — $1.50 each way, $4.50 for a day pass within same zone. Seniors older than 65, disabled people and youth ages 6-17 ride for 75 cents; children 5 and younger ride free. Please have exact change; identification is required for discounts.
• Grass Valley route: The shuttle will pick up passengers every 20 minutes at Church and Neal Streets at Citizen's Bank downtown, at the Pine Creek Center and at the Kmart Shopping Center. Incoming route starts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The last bus will depart from the Fairgrounds at 10:30 p.m. nightly.
• Nevada City route: The Nevada City shuttle runs evenings only for the first three days of the fair. Buses will depart every 35 minutes from the Eric Rood Administration Center in Nevada City, at the National Hotel, across from SPD Market on Zion Street, at the Fowler Center bus shelter on Nevada City Highway and the Glenbrook Center bus shelter on Olympia Park Road and Sutton Way. Incoming route starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last bus will depart from the Fairgrounds at 10:30 p.m. daily.

Regular bus service
Monday through Friday, all regular bus routes will be running as usual, and passengers may use them to connect to both the fair shuttles or the regular Route 3 that provides service to the corner of Brighton Street and McCourtney Road, adjacent to fairgrounds Gate 8, until 5:06 p.m.. Free shuttle at NU
In addition, Durham School Services, the company that provides transportation for several local school districts, will operate a free shuttle at Nevada Union High School, on Ridge Road in Grass Valley.A Durham bus will leave the parking lot by the Don Baggett Theater at 8:30 a.m. daily Wednesday through Sunday. They generally will leave every half-hour, but traffic congestion could cause delays.
The last bus leaves the fairgrounds at 11:30 p.m. nightly.
