The review of an affordable housing plan for the Nevada City Tech Center, scheduled as an agenda item on Thursday's Nevada City Planning Commission meeting, will be continued until the commission's Aug. 18 meeting.
According to city planner Cindy Siegfried, several commissioners will not be at the July meeting and the full commission is desired to hear the presentation.
The commission was scheduled to review the proposed affordable housing plan for the Nevada City Tech Center property, in the 200 block of Providence Mine Road.
The property was tabbed by the city as a potential area for housing in its 2009 general plan. The 12.9-acre parcel is currently home only to the tech firm 2Wire, which opened an office at the park in 2007.
The affordable housing plan proposes that 59 dwelling units be offered for sale through a tentative map process. The housing plan includes three primary features — 20 percent of all units (12) will be less than 1,500 square feet; an additional 10 percent (six) of all units will be restricted to be less than 1,250 square feet, and 12 second dwelling units will be provided.
