Please reconsider your views on repeal of the Affordable Care Act. We must restrict insurance companies from denying coverage or raising premiums due to ailments that arise from accidents or illnesses that are unforeseeable.
Why should people fear changing jobs due to the threat of losing their health insurance? How can we justify denying seniors preventive care and low-cost prescription medicines? How is it justified to cancel coverage or limit badly needed care, after paying premiums for years, simply because of an unexpected illness or accident or simply because you are aging?
The reality is that by rolling back the Affordable Care Act we'll be adding a trillion dollars to the deficit. Isn't it wiser to let insurance companies who have been collecting premiums for untold years pick up the tab, as those premiums were implied to be paying for, than to force other government agencies to pick up the tab adding to the deficit and /or our tax dollars?
