Diane Stanbury, owner of Blue Moon Apparel in Grass Valley, was recognized as the 2010 Volunteer of the Year at The Friendship Club's inaugural event “The Power of 100” held Wednesday at the Miners Foundry.
Stanbury has volunteered for The Friendship Club for the past three years and has served a one-on-one mentor, field-trip chaperone, snack helper, summer camp support, and special events volunteer.
“Diane is a kind, compassionate and fun individual and she brings warmth and love to everything she takes on at The Friendship Club. She's always willing to jump in with both feet,” said Jennifer Singer, executive director.
Volunteers and the work they do are critical to the success of The Friendship Club. There are many ways for ladies and gentlemen to participate and in the girls' success.
