Workers finished covering the corporate Walgreens Drug Store logo Tuesday morning at the stalled construction project at the corner of Brunswick Road and Sutton Way. Three Walgreens logos on the 14,000-plus square-foot building are now covered by black plastic.
The store has been mired in construction delays and financial troubles since the start of the year and many of the project's subcontractors were not paid for their work by Sacramento developer Interra-Vision. Pharmacy giant Walgreens wasn't slated to take ownership of the building until Interra-Vision finished it and completed an estimated $300,000 road-widening project on Brunswick and Sutton.
