Organizers plan to conduct a “Fight Washington Corruption Pledge Rally” in Grass Valley today from 12:15-12:45 p.m. to protest the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling giving corporations the right to unlimited funding of political campaigns.
The group's goal is to encourage Rep. Tom McClintock to sign the Fair Elections Now Act to reverse the decision. The pledge campaign is being coordinated by The Other 98 percent and MoveOn with the goal of getting all of Congress to sign the act.
The rally is scheduled in front of the Bank of America at the corner of Sutton Way and Brunswick Road. For information, e-mail WashingtonCorruptionPledge-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
