Greenhouse gas project seeks 10 paid interns

Local
The Sierra Business Council is accepting applications for 10 part-time jobs measuring greenhouse gas emissions in local governments in the western Sierra region.

The internship program, supported and paid for by Pacific Gas and Electric Co., will train employees in how to take an inventory of local jurisdictions' energy use, identifying ways they can reduce their strain on the environment.

The program runs from September through December and involves 15 hours of work a week.

Ideal candidates will have at least a bachelor's degree, experience with Microsoft Excel and interest in climate change policies.

To apply for the internship, send a resume and cover letter describing your experience by e-mail no later than Aug. 1. Contact James Alcorn, Green Communities Intern Manager, at jalcorn@sbcouncil.org.
