Today's grand opening of a new 99 cent-only store in Yuba City will snag the first nine people who go an iPod nano for $99.99 each.
It's the company's first store in Yuba City, and President Jeff Gold will roll up his sleeves and help open the store, officials said.
“We are pretty excited and look forward to being good neighbors,” said spokeswoman Rosa Magallanes.
The Yuba City High School band will perform at 7 a.m.
Yuba City Vice Mayor John Duke will cut the ribbon at 8 a.m. Two city council members, Tej Maan and Leslie McBride, and Assistant City Manager Steve Kroeger, Division Fire Chief Peter Daley and Economic Development Manager Daron Gale also are expected to attend.
From the Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director/CEO Laura Nicholson will attend.
The store will carry produce, dairy, deli, frozen foods, fresh-baked goods and gourmet foods. These sections and other food products make up more than half the store's product line, officials said.
