Two Grass Valley men face charges for methamphetamine possession or sale.
Nevada County narcotics officers searched the residence of Derek Dwayne Dixon, 48, in the 100 block of North Church Court late Tuesday.
They found about one gram of methamphetamine, numerous syringes and 50 to 60 hydrocodone pills in two bags, said Nevada County Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Smethers.
Dixon allegedly did not have a prescription for the hydrocodone — the generic form of the painkiller Vicodin.
“He said he was trading it, bartering it for other drugs,” Smethers said.
Dixon was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance for sale, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked into county jail and released on $36,000 bail.
Another man at the residence, Michael Wayne Gentry, 52, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
He was booked and released on $1,000 bail.
Gentry previously was arrested in November by members of the Narcotics Task Force at a business in the 1200 block of East Main Street in Grass Valley. He allegedly was found to have nearly 7.6 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale and packaging material.
