State Senator Sam Aanestad (R-Grass Valley) has been endorsed by the powerful Placer County Republican Central Committee in his race for Lt. Governor.

“I'm pleased to earn the support of one of the strongest Republican organizations in California, and this endorsement carries a lot of weight in the race for the Repulican nomination,” Aanestad said.

The Placer County area is considered one of the strongest Republican regions of the country.



Aanestad decided to run for Lt. Gov. after John Garamendi left the office last year to run for Congress. State Sen. Abel Maldonado was named as his successor, but has yet to be confirmed by the legislature.
