Starting in the 1980s, this Newark native went from the East Bay to Los Angeles and then on to multiple tours throughout the world sharing stages with Jefferson Starship, Stephen Bishop and The Tubes. Now that path has led him to Grass Valley.
For nearly twenty years Cambra has been a member of The Tubes, a San Francisco-based rock group that began in the ‘70s with cult favorites, “White Punks on Dope” and “Don't Touch Me There,” and gaining popularity with such hits as “Talk To You Later” and “She's A Beauty” in the ‘80s.
During his tenure, two CDs were released, both produced by Cambra and the boys, “Genius of America” in 1996 and “Tubes World Tour 2001.” After leaving The Tubes in 2006, Cambra began work on his own projects, including his forthcoming solo CD, “Tell The Truth.”
Three years in the making, “Tell The Truth” combines an eclectic blend of rock, country, and funk, tinged with a slight Beatles influence, offering lyrical reference on subjects such as animal rights and the environment with “Animal People” and “Scarecrow,” as well as his own unique take on love songs, “Not A Mark On Me” and “One For The Angels.”

All Star Band
Newly transplanted from Half Moon Bay, Cambra has put together a new group, Aunt Mary's Party, for the sole purpose of “getting out and having some serious fun!” Together now with friends Dave Meros (former bassist with Eric Burden and The New Animals) and Kenny Nichols (former drummer with Hotel California) plus special guests, Aunt Mary's Party promises to be the best ticket in town.Aunt Mary's Party returns to the Copper Top Lounge in Grass Valley this New Year's Eve. The entire evening, including special guests Johnny DeLucia and Halie O' Ryan, promises a night of mind-blowing listening and high-energy dance music to an unexpected mix of rare classic rock, country, funk and pop covers.
