A two-vehicle crash on Brunswick Road at Whispering Pines Lane injured two people and held up traffic Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Jonathon Seeley, 49, of Nevada City was southbound on Brunswick climbing the steep hill in the Loma Rica area about 7:42 a.m. when the accident occurred, CHP Officer Heather Blancarte said.
Dennis Jensen, 69, of Grass Valley, pulled out in front of Seeley's Toyota sedan in his gray Dodge pickup in an effort to get to the northbound lanes, Blancarte said. Seeley's vehicle then smashed into the truck's driver-side door.
Seeley was taken by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with moderate injuries, Blancarte said. Jensen was not hurt, but his passenger, Rebecca Jensen, 55, of Grass Valley, was taken to Sierra Nevada
Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley to be treated for a minor injury.
Tow trucks took the vehicles away from the scene and the front end of the Toyota was heavily damaged. No citations were issued, and alcohol was not a factor, Blancarte said.
