The body of a former Grass Valley resident who was reported missing Saturday night was found Monday in Sutter County.
Lori Ann McElyea, 39, left her West Roseville home in her SUV at about 10 p.m. Saturday wearing only pajamas and a bathrobe, according to the Roseville Police Department. She had been battling cancer and had been taking medication and may have been disoriented.
McElyea grew up on Wolf Road in Grass Valley and graduated from Bear River High School in 1988, when she was known as Lori Ann Lindsey.
McElyea was found in her vehicle in a field near Pleasant Grove, sister Seanne Krogman said. Sutter County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation; the agency says there is no indication of foul play.
She was a three-time cancer survivor, was taking “a lot of medication” and had been in delicate health, family friend Drew Pefferle told The Union.
