Railroad holiday

Christmas at the Railroad Museum will feature a visit from Santa Claus (bring your camera), refreshments, a silent auction, door prizes and shopping at the gift shop.

Even Engine No. 5 is adorned for the event, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad and Transportation Museum, 5 Kidder Court, Nevada City.

Christmas in the Foothills

Merchants in the Browns Valley, Brownsville, Dobbins and Oregon House area will offer their wares during a foothill gift tour.

The 17th annual Christmas in the Foothills will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 and 6.

A variety of businesses and organizations are participating in this year's tour. Each location is marked with a bright sign, and maps are available at each site.

This annual event offers crowd-free shopping in picturesque locations, and is sponsored by Yuba Feather Communities Services and the Rabbit Creek Journal.
