Former Nevada County Supervisor Sue Horne said Tuesday morning she is “taking a serious look,” at running for assessor in June 2010.
“I haven't made a final decision,” Horne said. “The idea of being able to serve again full time is something I want to take a close look at.”
Horne would face current Supervisor Ted Owens for the spot Assessor Dale Flippin has announced he will vacate at the end of the year. Owens announced his candidacy last month.
Horne was supervisor from the county's southwestern District 2 from 2001 through 2008. She ran for the Republican nomination for the Assembly in the 2008 primary, and was defeated by Dan Logue of Yuba County.
Owens chose to endorse Logue during that election, instead of Horne. Logue went on to win the assembly seat in the general election.
