Police Blotter: Nov. 30, 2009



Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

11:13 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Glasson Way reported a patient had become hostile.

3:19 p.m. – A woman from Winchester Street at Marshall Street reported two dogs chased her mother and possibly injured her.

5:03 p.m. – A man from the 100 block of East Empire reported he had tried to get a speeding driver to slow down and the driver turned around and began threatening him. The driver reported the man flagged her down and was yelling at her. Police mediated the situation.

5:20 p.m. – A man from the 100 block of East Main reported someone had parked in his spot at City Hall. When the caller confronted the driver of the car, the driver was very rude and began swearing.

8:14 p.m. – A man from the 100 block of Mill Street reported someone snatched his wallet.

8:37 p.m. – A caller from a store on the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man with a small child was very angry and throwing shopping carts. Police contacted the man.

10:36 p.m. – A man from the 200 block of North Auburn Street reported he just chased two juveniles out of his yard after they tried stealing his lights. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.

11:51 p.m. – Police shut down a disruptive party at the 200 block of West Main Street.

Saturday

12:54 p.m. – Callers reported gun shots and possibly firecrackers at Condon Park. Police were unable to locate the subjects.

1:24 p.m. – A caller from a restaurant on the 100 block of Mill Street reported disruptive patrons were refusing to leave the bar. Police sent the patrons home.

3:39 a.m. – A woman from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported a man was violating parole by drinking and had taken the phone from her and pushed her. The man was arrested and booked on suspicion of damaging a telephone line.

3:55 a.m. – A man was arrested at the 100 block of South Auburn Street and booked on suspicion of burglary. His car was towed.

10:49 a.m. – A caller reported a group of juveniles broke the lock on the Condon Park skate park and entered. Police cleared the park.

1:19 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported the possible theft of her puppy. Police contacted a group of juveniles walking with the dog on South Auburn Street. The juveniles said the dog was loose, and it was returned to its owner.

2:34 p.m. – A caller from the 700 block of Doris Drive reported a man was drunk, throwing rocks and making threats.

8:03 p.m. – A caller from a store on the 800 block of Sutton Way was refusing to sell alcohol to a man with only a paper ID. Police contacted the man, who did not have proper photo identification, and the store did not sell him alcohol.

Sunday

12:13 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported two male juveniles were streaking through the complex. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.

Friday

9:39 a.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Shady Creek Drive reported her husband broke into her vehicle during the night and stole $700 and her cell phone.

11:02 a.m. – A caller from Red Dog Road at Greenhorn Creek reported people had pitched a tent and started a campfire on private property.

12:51 p.m. – A man from the 18000 block of Hummingbird Drive reported his wife had stolen his marijuana prescription during an argument. He also said his daughter's Xbox 360 was missing.

1:56 p.m. – A woman reported she was just assaulted by her ex-boyfriend along Old Downieville Highway, but did not need medical attention.

2:16 p.m. – A woman from the 15000 block of Arrowhead Lane reported two dogs were chasing her sheep.

3:51 p.m. – A man reported hearing a loud explosion at Ball Road and Stinson Drive that shook his house. Deputies were unable to locate the source of the sound.

6:51 p.m. – A caller from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported an explosion and a vegetation fire.

Saturday

1:50 p.m. – A man from the 12000 block of Mooney Flat Road reported he was in an argument with his neighbor, who drove toward him while in his vehicle.

2:55 p.m. – Department of forestry officials requested a boat officer after a boat capsized on Lake Wildwood.

5:51 p.m. – A man from the 12000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported he was assaulted by his girlfriend and had red marks on his face.

9:15 p.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of Sunrock Road reported an aggressive bear. She later called back to report her husband shot the bear after it got into the chicken coop and attempted to enter through four doors of the residence. Deputies advised Fish and Game wardens.

Sunday

12:32 a.m. – A woman was arrested at the 400 block of Henderson Street and booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and criminal conspiracy.

1:01 a.m. – A caller from Meyer Road and Highway 174 reported a loud party. The party was shut down.

Friday

10:15 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported burglaries to several employee vehicles behind a restaurant.

10:59 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Pine Street reported a stolen Toyota 4Runner.

Saturday

5:34 p.m. – A caller reported a group of juveniles smoking along Commercial Street and yelling racial slurs.

Sunday

12:39 a.m. Police responded to a fight at a bar on the 300 block of Broad Street.

12:42 a.m. – A juvenile was arrested on the 100 block of Argall Way and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of stealing a truck.
