The 50-piece Nevada County Concert Band will perform from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at First Baptist Church, 1866 Ridge Road, Grass Valley.
The Winter Concert will open with the brass fanfare “Omnium Gatherum.” Musicians perform holiday favorites including “Do You Hear What I Hear?” plus “Jupiter,” from Holst's “The Planets” suite, and “A Grand, Grand Overture” by Malcolm Arnold, featuring the Hoover Quartet playing four vacuum cleaners.
Small groups from within the band will also perform, including a flute duet and a clarinet choir. This is a family-friendly event, with free snacks at intermission. Donations accepted.
