Doretha Agnes Walker died Nov. 16 in Brentwood. She was 83.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. A graveside service will follow at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with Pastor Clay Felicitas officiating.
Mrs. Walker was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Nashville, N.C. She graduated from Enfield High School in Enfield, N.C.
She married William Blond Walker Jr. Oct. 6, 1945. in Virginia.
Mrs. Walker was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher, assistant librarian, and also worked for Lawrence Livermore Laboratories. She was a member of CSEA.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and was a faithful Christian.
She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Null of Clovis; children William (Trish) Walker of Stockton, John A. (Susan) Walker of Auburn, Susan (Frank) Yuen of Tracy, Kirk (Lisa) Walker of Brentwood; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings Earnestine “Polly” Gibson, Beatrice Olberding, Linda McNeely, Helen Chalker, Thelma Thurman, Bobby Ray Hunt, Ronald Hunt, Edward Hunt, David Hunt and Franklin Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Blond Walker Jr., on Jan. 9, 2009; her grandson Sgt. John Adam Walker Jr. in 1997; son-in-law Wade Null in 2007; and granddaughter Sarah Null in 1984.
