After a 16-year run, local artist and holiday show promoter, Linda Schafer, will retire following her Friday and Saturday Artists Boutique in Alta Sierra.
Schafer first started promoting and hosting shows in her beautifully remodeled architecturally-designed home in Marin County. She gathered local artists to show and market their creations for the holidays. These shows were so successful over the first years, that when the Schafer's moved to the Sierra Foothills, Linda decided to recreated her Boutique here.
Since Schafer's husband is a licensed architect, their beautiful remodeled home once again was hosting her shows, traditionally the weekend before Thanksgiving, on Friday and Saturday. Unlike other shows, Schafer actually decorates her walls, cabinets and tables with her vender's items making holiday feelings come alive as you enter their home. There are baked goods straight from the oven, to sample, as well as other refreshments to enjoy while visiting.
This years show features the local talents of Pat Hart, jewelry; Ken Eichmann, woodworks; Jackie Milhous, handpainted glassworks; Shirley Williams, needlework and decorated goose eggs; Doezigns jewelry; Christine Machado, pumpkins; and Linda's jams, chutneys, butters, embroidery, ornaments, painting and home decor.
Share the Holiday Boutique with out friends and neighbors for a final fare-well on Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 17849 Lawrence way (near David Way) in Alta Sierra.
