Poets celebrate the spoken word at open mic tonight

At 7:30 tonight, the Nevada County Poetry Series will celebrate the spoken word at its season ending “Giant Open-mic.” Many of the featured and open-mic readers who have contributed to the Series this year will be reading.

“These year-end celebrations always lead to an excitement filled evening, said Bill Gainer of the Nevada County Poetry Series.

There is a freedom of expression and an unharnessed flow of energy that ignite with the shared creativity and talents of Nevada County's poets, writers and performers. It's a party! Everyone is invited! Bring your poems, prose, didgeridoos, something to bang on —whatever you have, the stage is yours! You never know who is going to show up.”

Purchase tickets at the door for $5 general, seniors and students, and $1 under 18.

Refreshments and open-mic included. The show will be in Off Center Stage (the Black Box theater, enter from Richardson Street) at The Center for the Arts, 314 W. Main St., Grass Valley.
