Big Brothers Big Sisters plans 27th annual fundraiser



Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County and North Lake Tahoe is hosting their 27th annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Grass Valley Veterans' Hall, 255 S. Auburn St.

The fundraiser features local wines, hors d'oeuvres, a raffle, and a silent auction sponsored by numerous local businesses, with contributions from Squaw Creek Resort, The Clocksmith, Bill's Chuckwagon and REO Speedwagon founder Alan Gratzer, who is offering both an autographed snare drum and a jam session in his home, along with donations from other local groups and businesses. Melisa Mistler, Ms. Greater Sacramento and owner of the M3 Mall, will be making an appearance.

Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at BigsOfNC.org or at the Coldwell Banker/Grass Roots Realty offices at 855 Sutton Way, Grass Valley, or 11354 Pleasant Valley Road, Penn Valley. Tickets are also at the door for $25 per person.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nationwide mentoring program pairing adults with children in Nevada County between the ages of 6 and 18.
