Re: ‘Why fight this reform'

I was impressed by the author's apparent knowledge of what the new health legislation contained. I assumed (my error) he had a copy of the bill and made an in-depth study.

Reviewing the opinion piece a second time, I realized the details listed were from statements by members of the administration and not in any published written form.

The ideas listed allegedly were being considered and may not be in the final draft.

Why would I believe anything verbal emanating from Washington?

Many statements and promises made by this administration have proved to be

untrue. I'll not believe a word from them until I see it in writing. If the federal government did not have its heavy hand all over the proposed legislation, the ideas and ideals in the article might be worth considering. Until I can read the final bill, I'll consider the article a well-written piece of fiction. There are many, including me, who believe that just a few modifications to our existing health care system would make a world of difference. What is standing in the way is the government — federal, and state.
