Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

8:06 a.m. – A caller on Park Avenue reported juveniles were loitering in the area and harassing people.

8:57 a.m. – A caller reported a panhandler in front of a store. Police made contact with the person.

9:35 a.m. – Police arrested a man at North Church Street and Richardson and booked him on suspicion of public intoxication.

11:39 a.m. – A caller from the 300 block of French Avenue reported a suspicious man was soliciting carpet cleaning services. Police were unable to locate him.

12:17 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Colfax Avenue reported a driver in a Ford Taurus was swerving on the road and hit the curb several times. Police contacted the driver, who said he was attempting to retrieve his loose dog.

1:24 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Miners Trail reported her vehicle was broken into overnight. She reported stolen property.

2:36 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Sierra College Drive reported a physical fight between juveniles that drew a crowd of about 20 people.

5:29 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Ocean Avenue reported a reclusive neighbor had offered his juvenile daughter a ride to school.

5:30 p.m. – A caller from a business at the 100 block of Mill Street reported a man who was speaking inappropriately to her and showing her inappropriate photos.

7:43 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported juveniles had egged his house.

11:59 p.m. – An officer contacted two people who had pitched a tent near Kidder Cemetery. They were on a cross-country bike trip and the officer advised them of rules about camping within city limits.

Saturday

2:23 a.m. – A man was arrested on Cole Way and booked on suspicion of battery.

8:42 a.m. – A tow truck company at the 600 block of East Main Street reported drugs were found in the wheel well of a vehicle as it was being processed for destruction.

10:01 a.m. – A resident requested extra patrol overnight on Rhode Island Street because people were trying to siphon gas from cars.

10:03 a.m. – A caller from Chester Street reported a suspicious person looking into windows. Police were unable to locate the person.

12:37 p.m. – A caller reported her purse was stolen at a store on the 600 block of Sutton Way. Police contacted employees, who said the woman found her keys and located her purse in her car.

2:28 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Gold Hill Drive reported spotting a mother bear with two cubs behind a residence. It was the caller's second spotting in a week.

3:23 p.m. – A caller from Elisabeth Daniels Park reported a man stole her dog.

5:10 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported two people running in and out of the business asking people for cigarettes. The caller asked them to leave, then they returned. One person was carrying a bowling bowl bag and an iPod. Police were unable to locate the two.

6:04 p.m. – A caller reported a reckless driver in a brown truck with a camper shell near the 100 block of East Empire.

7:09 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn reported someone stole her gas meter.

10:39 p.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported three juveniles in the laundry room possibly vandalizing it. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.

9:03 p.m. – A caller from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital reported a very drunk man was about to be discharged from the emergency room. He was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

9:35 p.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported people in a dark-colored SUV talking about drugs and possibly drinking.

11:36 p.m. – A man was arrested at a gas station on East Main Street and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and carrying drug paraphernalia.

Sunday

12:17 a.m. – A woman was arrested along northbound Highway 49 at the Sacramento offramp and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.

12:20 a.m. – A man was arrested on High Street at West Main Street and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.

1:17 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Arcadia Drive reported someone had covered their lawn in newspapers.

2:17 a.m. – A woman was arrested at Empire and Whiting streets and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and bringing drugs into jail.

Friday

8:21 a.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Stotler Avenue reported someone had stolen her mother's electric wheelchair.

9:12 a.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of McCourtney Road reported a young woman may have been doing drugs in class and may still have them on her person. The woman only had Advil with her.

11:30 a.m. – A caller from the 31000 block of Relief Hill Road reported his trailer was broken into and money was missing. He suspected another tenant broke in.

12:34 p.m. – A caller from the 16000 block of Vandevere Road reported she was trying to collect her belongings and her ex-boyfriend was causing a disturbance about it.

1:39 p.m. – Deputies responded to a multi-car injury accident on Highway 20 near Bear Valley. Calfire and CHP officers were notified.

2:26 p.m. – A caller reported a vehicle rollover accident at Oak Tree Road and Blue Sage Way. Calfire was notified.

4:04 p.m. – A caller from Wolf Road between Highway 49 and Duggans Road reported a person in a Ford truck was stealing gravel from the side of the road.

7:27 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Torrey Pines Drive reported a cat was possibly stuck in a heating vent. The caller was given directions on how to deal with the cat.

Saturday

1:38 a.m. – A caller reported someone was throwing eggs at vehicles along Highway 49 near Alta Sierra Drive.

12:43 p.m. – A caller from Bear River High School requested extra patrol for out-of-town teenagers who were out of control at football games.

5:31 p.m. – A caller from the 31000 block of Relief Hill Road reported a landlord was making threats of beating the tenants with a baseball bat and had kicked the door. The parties were separated.

5:56 p.m. – A caller from the 21000 block of Scotts Flat Road reported a gun, a valuable coin and her underwear had been stolen. She was unsure when any of the items was taken.

6:09 p.m. – A caller from a business on the 10000 block of Combie Road reported a man stole food and was eating it behind the store.

Sunday

4:15 a.m. – A caller reported an elderly woman came to her door saying she was lost. The woman did not have shoes and was wearing a bathrobe. The lost woman was returned to her residence.

7:58 a.m. – A caller from the 16000 block of Highway 49 reported a business appeared to have been burglarized.

1:04 p.m. – A caller from the 700 block of Zion Street reported a hit-and-run in a parking lot.

Saturday

2:21 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported two men were in a bar fight the night before. One went to the emergency room for treatment.

Sunday

12 a.m. – A caller reported three teenage boys assaulted a neighbor when he confronted them for damaging vehicles. They left on foot.
