A Lake Wildwood resident allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a security vehicle Monday afternoon.
Julia Delisser, 66, was driving up Chaparral Drive at about 2:20 p.m. Monday when she apparently fell asleep and drifted into the oncoming lane, California Highway Patrol Officer Brant Hardin said.
She hit a Lake Wildwood security vehicle and then drove over an embankment.
“It could have been a lot worse, because the embankment went a long way down, but the car stopped,” Hardin said.
Delisser was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital after she complained of chest pain, Hardin said. The front ends of both vehicles were damaged, but the other driver was not injured.
Hardin said no charges will be filed in the accident.
