Blaze quickly contained in Peardale
A garage in flames in Peardale was quickly contained by firefighters Saturday, sparing the residence to which it was attached.
The fire was reported at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday in the 13000 block of Edgewood Road and when firefighters arrived, it was fully involved. Fire engines responded for Peardale-Chicago Park, Ophir Hill and Calfire.
The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes, although firefighters remained on the scene for several hours to mop up and check the home. The cause of the fire was still under investigation, although someone smoking in the garage was allegedly a possibility.
