Anna Jewel “Julie” Chapman died on Sunday, September 20.
There will be no funeral, but a memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley at 2 p.m. on September 25.
Anna Jewel "Julie" Chapman was born July 27, 1924 in Kemp, Oklahoma. She was the only daughter of Abner and Anna Nethery.
She was baptized September 1924 at St. John's Catholic Church in Vernon, Texas.
She attended school in Vernon, graduating on May 25, 1942. She took nurses training at Christ the King Hospital there and pursued that career.
On January 10, 1971, she married Robert Thomas Chapman, who preceded her in death.
She loved reading, camping, and travel. She visited many foreign countries, and had a good, fun life.
She joined the Lutheran faith on March 29, 1992, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lael Skeffington of Grass Valley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1979 Ridge Road, Grass Valley, CA. 95945.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory in Grass Valley.
