Chris Nettles in the news
Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Nettles, readers in Grass Valley, sent us a clipping of their son that appeared in the Hancock County Journal-Pilot, the newspaper in Carthage, Ill.
Turns out Chris Nettles, who graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1974, now is a retired lieutenant commander from the United States Coast Guard. He was the speaker at the Memorial Day service held at the Moss Ridge Cemetery out there.
Here's what the Journal-Pilot reported about Chris' speech:
“He stressed the soldier's code of honor and urged citizens to adopt a similar code of honor and loyalty to their country and to those serving to preserve freedoms.”
