Donald Kane died July 26. He was 79.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 W. Main Street, in Grass Valley.
He was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Pittsburgh to Patrick J. Kane and Alice Mary Kane.
He served in the Coast Guard from 1948 until 1951.
He married Anna Kane in 1951 in Juneau, Alaska.
He worked at Sears for 38 years, and then at the Lake Wildwood Golf Course for 17 years.
He enjoyed playing golf and reading, and he had a great love for animals, especially his dog, Lucy.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Kane of Penn Valley; son, Patrick (Jane) Kane of Sacramento; daughters Carla (Pete) Anecito of Aptos, Christine Kane of Lynwood Wash.; grandson, Ryan Kane and granddaughters Jillian Kane and Sarah Chavez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Alice Mary Kane; son, John Kane and sister, Carol Carney.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory.
