Four small fires have been reported in the Tahoe National Forest as of Sunday morning. The fires, which are due to lightning strikes, are all less than 2 acres; three are between 1/10 and 1/4 acres.
The four fires are all currently being fought by Forest Service firefighters and were considered contained, according to dispatcher Cyndy Hobbs.
"There are aircraft working them and there is a recon plane in the air," she said.
The fire locations are scattered; one is between Sierraville and Loyalton; one is on Mt. Lola north of Independence Lake; one is near Emigrant Gap; and the fourth is northeast of French Meadows Reservoir.
