Janet Elizabeth Varney died on July 21, in Muncie, Ind. She was 92.
A viewing will be held at noon on Thursday, July 30, at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary with memorial services following at 1 p.m.
She was born on April 11, 1917, in Alberta, Canada, to Allen H. and Vera J. (Ackley) Morrill.
She attended Santa Rosa High School. She was a homemaker.
She was married on April 6, 1947, in Redwood City.
She enjoyed gardening and reading and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grass Valley. She sang in the Baptist Church Choir for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon J. (Varney) Jones and her husband Bud L. Jones of Muncie, Ind.; son, Ray Varney of Healdsburg; son, Tom Varney and wife Kayla Varney of Willits; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Allen H. Morrill in 1972; mother, Vera J. (Ackley) Morrill in 1980; husband, Thomas P. Varney in 1993; daughter, Elizabeth Magnee in 2008; son, Stanford Varney in 1987, and brother, Wilson Morrill in 1996.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
