County library supporters made a difference

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing your caring for, loyalty to, and your concern for your county library. Numerous calls, letters, e-mails and attendance at the budget hearing showed how important good library services are to you.

Your caring resulted in the continuance of county library services at Bear River High School. Alas, there remains only one day a week opening at the Foley Library for Historical Research with no librarian available for it. Let us hope that this can be reconsidered and rectified as its value to researchers of Nevada County history both local and world-wide grows with each passing day.

Thank you again for rallying behind our county library and its 67,000 card holders of all ages. Your willingness, also, to vote a library tax by 76.61 percent showed your belief in the importance of the public library to the quality of life in a democratic society as it is, indeed, open to all.
