The Grass Valley American Legion Post 130 baseball team defeated the visiting Las Plumas Thunderbirds in seven innings Tuesday evening by a score of 13-3.
Glenn Hogan worked the mound for the Miners holding on to a 4-3 lead and pitching out of a bases-loaded jam before Alec Giron came in on relief.
The Miners scattered a few hits and left numerous runners on base until things got rolling in the bottom of the seventh inning.
With runners on first and second, Richie Osbourne drilled a shot over the right fielder for a two-run triple. Batting through the order, and with Chris Porter on second base, Osbourne again came through with a walk-off single to complete the game with a 10-run mercy rule.
The Miners (16-1) play July 7 at home against El Dorado.
