A 20-year-old man remained in county jail on charges of vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly attacking his father in a bid for his attention.
A man from the 20000 block of Buck Ridge Road, in the Alta Sierra Ranches area, called 911 Monday at about 4:30 p.m. to report that he came home to find his house “torn up.” He told Nevada County Sheriff's deputies his son, identified as Dwight Jacob Silva, was home and became angry with him, threatening to kill him with a folding knife.
The father managed to escape by jumping off his back deck, according to the police report. When deputies arrived, Dwight Silva was gone, but was arrested after he eventually returned.
Dwight Silva told deputies he had gotten into a fight at a friend's house and wanted to get his father's attention, said Sheriff Keith Royal.
He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
