Tractor theft trio nabbed

Three Yuba-Sutter residents were arrested Monday on suspicion of attempting to steal a tractor from a Sutter County ranch.

After a beekeeper reported suspicious activity at a ranch in the 7800 block of Oswald Road, Sutter County Sheriff's Department deputies stopped a vehicle at Bradley and O'Banion roads about 5 a.m. and arrested Christopher Daniel Silva, 31, who had a key to the tractor, which had been moved but not taken, said Sutter County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Brenda Baker.

Deputies were able to search Silva because he was on a parole after a previous offense, said Baker.

Silva, of the 200 block of Wilkie Avenue, Yuba City, was being held Tuesday in Sutter County Jail on suspicion of grand theft, receiving stolen property and other charges. Bail was set at $45,000.

Silva is the son of former Sutter County Supervisor Dan Silva, according to a jail booking sheet. Dan Silva is also manager of farmers markets in Yuba City and Plumas Lake.

A stolen all-terrain vehicle was found at the home of the driver, Mohammad Imran Khan, 29, of the 8300 block of Bailey Road, who was also on parole when arrested. He was taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy and receiving stolen property and was being held Tuesday on $15,000 bail.

A third person in the vehicle, Misty Dawn Boeh, 20, of the 5600 block of Marysville Road, Browns Valley, was arrested at Khan's residence on suspicion of conspiracy and receiving stolen property. She was no longer being held Tuesday.
