A fire that engulfed a car on Sutton Way early Wednesday morning is believed to have been arson, Grass Valley Police Capt. Rex Marks said.
Several witnesses called 911 at about 3 a.m. to report a car on fire in the parking lot of Olympia Garden Apartments in the 300 block of Sutton Way.
Grass Valley fire and police departments responded to find a maroon four-door Lincoln fully engulfed in flames, Marks said. A small Honda sedan next to the Lincoln also was damaged but might have been salvageable, he added.
“It is a possible arson, and we are working with the fire department,” Marks said. “The investigation remains open, and we have no leads as yet.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 477-4600.
