Jack and Mary Gilliland (pictured) of Penn Valley will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary today.
They were married June 12, 1934, in Glenwood, Iowa. In 1937, they moved to Palo Alto where Jack was an executive scout master with the Boy Scouts of America; followed by moves to Chico and Vallejo before settling in Napa.
Jack was a partner with Alcon Builders in Napa, building about 800 homes. The last 32 years they have lived near the 18th fairway of Lake Wildwood Golf course in Penn Valley, where Jack still plays golf about twice a week.
Jack and Mary have four children – Jack Gilliland, Jr. of Penn Valley, Patricia Bardessono of Napa, Gary Gilliland of Penn Valley and Cheri Kraus of Santa Rosa. They have eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Jack and Mary enjoy traveling across the U.S. in their RV. They also enjoy following the accomplishments of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Three years ago Jack and Mary were able to attend their daughter and son-in-law – Steve and Pat Bardessono's 50th wedding anniversary.
