An East Linda man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a Yuba City stabbing.
Samuel Levi Yasko, 23, of the 1300 block of Bingham Avenue, was arrested by Yuba City officers at 7:20 p.m. at 10th and G streets in Marysville. He was being held Thursday without bail in Sutter County Jail.
The victim, 36-year-old Everardo Heredia, was in stable condition Thursday at Rideout Memorial Hospital, police said.
Heredia was stabbed several times in the upper body during an argument about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday near his residence in the 1400 block of Wendall Way.
Witnesses said three of the four or five men who attacked Heredia left in a green mid-sized car.
About 20 minutes later, a Marysville Police Department officer pulled over a car matching the description and Yasko was arrested.
The victim's father, Everardo Navarro, 58, said he didn't know what his son and the attackers were arguing about. They came from a house across the street, he said.
