Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

6:43 a.m. — A caller from Doris Street reported a barking dog.

8:13 a.m. — A caller from Alta and Ivy streets reported loud music vibrating the windows.

3:58 p.m. — A man from Minnie Park reported a man with long black hair was watching children and tried to “get close” to the caller’s wife.

5:12 p.m. — A man from a business in the 100 block of Neal Street reported a boy would not leave the store and was asking customers to buy him alcohol.

5:27 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of East Main Street reported a man entered a vehicle on their property. It was not known whether he took anything from the vehicle.

Monday

12:58 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of South Auburn Street reported a woman, possibly driving while drunk, almost hit a pole.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Sunday

12:40 a.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Ranchero Way reported a fight over ownership of a dog. He reportedly reached into a vehicle that had the dog inside and was dragged by the vehicle. He said that the vehicle then stopped and a person punched him in the face. He blocked the vehicle with his work truck. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, no one wanted to press charges.

1:28 a.m. — A woman from the 19000 block of Ocelot Drive reported someone had broken into her home and was standing in the kitchen. The person turned out to be her daughter-in-law, who accidentally scared her.

2:15 a.m. — A caller from Banner Quaker Hill reported four people in a green Jeep Cherokee were stuck in the snow. They had no food or water and only had a blanket. They were not dressed for the conditions. CHP officers searched for the vehicle but could not make it up Chalk Hill Road due to the snow. Four Search and Rescue volunteers on snowmobiles were sent to look for the Jeep, which they found about one mile east of Highway 20 at about 6 a.m. The people in the Jeep declined medical attention.

1:53 p.m. — A woman from the 12000 block of Casci Court reported vandalism to her vehicle.

3 p.m. — A caller from Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley reported someone shooting off bottle rockets.

3:12 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Lilac Court reported vandalism to vehicles that were parked at her home for a party.

3:36 p.m. — A man from the 15000 block of Shannon Way reported his neighbor’s “dryer shaft” was creating a large amount of noise about five times a week.

4:02 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Rock Creek Road reported vandalism to a residence.

7:31 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Linquenda Lane reported vandalism to several mailboxes and signs.

7:42 p.m. — A man from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported several items were stolen from his vehicle.

11:33 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Broken Oak Court reported her neighbor was playing his piano too loud.
