Heres a look at how some athletes with local ties fared recently at the college and professional level:
Erik Flores (Nevada Union, 05); University of California, Los Angeles Flores shot a 67 (-5) in the final round for the Bruins at the CordeValle Collegiate tournament last week, helping his team finish in third place.
He shot a 76 in the first round.
Christina Stockton (Forest Lake Christian, 06); The University of San Francisco Stockton shot a 212 (68, 69, 75) at the Kent Youel Invitational, finishing as the tournaments runner-up as her Dons won the overall tournament in Hawaii Oct. 29.
Her scores established a new 54-hole low in the tournament.
Volleyball
Ali Daley (Nevada Union, 05); UCLA Daley had seven kills Sunday as the Bruins lost in four sets to Washington.
On Friday, the Bruins swept Washington State with Daley adding eight kills and 12 digs to the win.
Kylie Miraldi (Nevada Union, 08); San Jose State Miraldi recorded a team-best three blocks, five kills and two digs as the Spartans beat Nevada in four games Saturday.
On Thursday, she had four kills and three blocks in a loss to Utah State.
Sarah McAtee (Nevada Union, 08); San Jose State McAtee had one kill, one dig and service ace in a loss Utah State Thursday.
Football
Zach Masch (Nevada Union, 07); Arizona Western College Masch, playing defensive tackle, recorded a sack for a safety and had six tackles as his Matadors beat Pima Community College 39-0 Saturday.
James Brindley (Nevada Union, 06); Utah State Brindley had seven tackles and recorded his second interception of the season in a 49-14 loss to Boise State.
Chris Ulinski (Nevada Union, 06); Utah State Ulinski had three kickoff attempts for 185 yards and one touchback in a 49-14 loss to Boise State.
Brennan McFadden (Nevada Union, 05); Utah State McFadden started at center for the Aggies in a 49-14 loss to Boise State. He usually starts at right guard.
Andrew Jackson (Nevada Union, 06); Fresno State University Jackson started at right guard for the Bulldogs in a 41-28 loss to Nevada Friday.
Kevin Grimes (Bear River, 06); The University of Nevada-Reno Grimes had three tackles and an interception in a 41-28 win over Fresno State Friday.
Soccer
Rachel Wittler (Nevada Union, 07); William Jessup Rachel played center midfield in a 4-2 will over Holy Names University. Her lone goal was waived off because she was called for a dangerous kick.
The Lady Warriors finished in 2nd place to Dominican University in the California Pacific Conference at 9-2-1. William Jessup is ranked 45th in the NAIA and hope to get a berth to the national championships in Daytona Beach Florida.
