Bicyclists of Nevada County (BONC) would like to thank the following clubs, volunteers and vendors in participating with the USFS Trail Work Day, Oct. 11 and 12.
United States Forest Service and Joe Chavez and his team for planning our event. Joes team gave many hours to plan where the trail would go, mark the trail and clear out numerous trees and brush.
Nevada County Woods Riders with their unselfish help to clear a trail for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers. NCWR spent hundreds of hours to work on a trail they will not use. They provided more than 60 volunteers on Saturday. Special thanks to Scott Radineou, Adam Batchelder and Kyra for organizing all the groups and setting up the work crews.
Gold Country Trails Council for helping develop these trails for the past 30 years. Their team is tremendously involved in the Tahoe National Forest and works to keep the trails preserved and maintained. GCTC also cooked and served lunch for more than 100 people.
Volunteers such as Willie and Sue Brusin have worked many years to make these trails go from concept to reality.
South Yuba River Citizens League, Nevada Union Miners Mountain Bike Team, Boy Scout Troop 13 and the many volunteers who showed up to pitch in.
Trader Joes in Roseville who furnished more than 400 bottles of water.
BONC would like to thank all of you for making such a positive impact for the Tahoe National Forest. Future cooperation of our groups will continue to keep our trails multi-use and enhance our invaluable trail system.
