Thanks go out to Kevin Goishi of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and Ron Nelson of Nevada Irrigation District for their timely help in rescuing dying fish in Auburn Ravine by providing additional water through Sunday, Oct. 19, at which time both agencies shut down all their water delivery for three weeks to maintain their canals.
The organization Save Auburn Ravine Salmon and Steelhead will continue to work with all agencies involved to provide adequate water flow in the Auburn Ravine during this time to keep fish alive. Our collaborative work will ultimately insure that fall run Chinook salmon will return to the entire length of the Auburn Ravine and spawn in Auburn School Park Preserve in the center of Auburn.
